Polly Ledvina

PhD, LEED-AP Homes

Polly Ledvina, LEED AP Homes, is a certified HERS rater with extensive knowledge and experience in architecture and the biological sciences. She earned a BA in Biology from Boston University, a MArch from the University of Houston and a PhD in Biochemistry from Rice University. Her diverse background has been brought to use in several environmental health studies with local universities and non-profit groups. With Contects, it continues to serve the interdisciplinary needs and purposes of project teams pursuing LEED certification. This past school year she taught classes in computer-aided design at Rice University and Houston Community College.

She is a member of the Houston Native Plant Society (in addition to numerous building-related professional associations) and volunteers as a Harris County Master Gardener for the Ronald MacDonald House. Polly spends family time with her husband, Joe, and their teenage daughter, Kirby, traveling, hiking, kayaking, fishing, gardening, and enjoying everything about Houston’s great sport, music, art and dining scenes.
