Project Goal:

Broadway Developments is committed to developing and maintaining only value-oriented properties. And because they recognize that one of the most important keys to success is a sense of responsibility to our city, our community, and our environment. Broadway Development’s George Mauze is using the LEED for Homes green rating system to help communicate his “triple bottom line” values to the design and construction team. Mauze stated his enthusiasm for the project by saying “It's an exciting time for Broadway Developments, the Broadway Corridor, and all of San Antonio.”

The 125,000 square foot mixed-use commercial and multi-family project will be located on a vacant urban city block between Josephine and Grayson streets on Broadway. The development will consist of retail, restaurant, and office spaces on the 1st floor, and 114 residential apartments on the 2nd-4th floors. With convenient access to US 281, IH-35, the Pearl Brewery development, downtown, the Witte Museum, the Museum of Art, the Botanical Gardens, the San Antonio Zoo, Brackenridge Park, the Brackenridge Golf Course and the Museum Reach of the San Antonio River walk the project will achieve high marks in the LEED rating system in the location and linkages and sustainable sites categories.

“A revitalization vision for the Broadway Corridor that benefits our community, enhances quality of life, and is cost effective to implement requires a public and private partnership that avoids a piece-meal approach. A comprehensive neighborhood standard and implementation strategy is required; we will work to be a part of that effort,” George Mauze
