Project Goal:

Columbia Parc Senior Residences will be the third step in the creation of a new community incorporating new urbanism design principles and inspired by classic New Orleans architecture. Mayor Mitch Landrieu praised Columbia Parc as a model for place-based holistic neighborhood development during his speech before the National Press Club in Washington, DC on August 19th. "When HUD Secretary Shawn Donovan came to New Orleans last spring, he went to Columbia Parc... The master plan for the surrounding neighborhood includes middle schools and high schools, an early childhood learning center, a recreational facility, libraries, playgrounds, retail, and yes, green space, all to serve one neighborhood in New Orleans."

Solution:

This project includes the complete construction of a 120-unit seniors apartment complex located at the intersection of Caton and Duplessis Streets in New Orleans. The project also includes a leasing office, theater, library, computer room, trash room, fitness center, and craft room. Project is to be designed and built to meet Platinum LEED for Home requirements.
